You will need assistance to assemble as the top weighs 52kgs (Roma 120cm) or 61kgs (Como 135cm) or 36kgs (Genoa 100cm)
Tip – if you lay down ”a road” of blankets / soft materials – you can gently manoeuvre the marble top around the house by taking it out of the cardboard (or not) and just roll it to wherever you need – lean it fairly upright with padding underneath against a wall (protecting the wall) with the underside facing out.
Insert the 4 x threaded bars to the metal plates.
Both Standard and Dome Nuts for the base bolts are included – you can choose which to use.
LOOSELY assemble the table base by attaching the 2 rings to one leg and rolling over to add each extra leg – that way, you will get all the bolts facing the same way (for neatness).
You can choose the plain or patterned ring to be nearest to the feet – usually patterned
Turn all height adjusting inserts in then legs to finger tight – so all are in the same height position.
Stand the loose and wobbly base up near the final location of the table.
With help – place the marble top on top of the base in any random position
With help – lift the top and align one of the threaded bars to drop into the hole on one of the legs
With help - If this does not happen easily – lift the top up and rotate it so the original threaded bar drops into the adjacent leg – then repeat above
Attach the 4 small nuts to join the marble to the base and tighten (do not fit small dome nuts yet).
Next – get the help (if you can) to get under the table and REALLY TIGHTEN all 8 bolts / nuts joining the legs to the rings … the tighter the better.
Retighten the nuts holding the marble to the base.
Attach the small dome nuts and just tighten a little beyond finger tight as these are purely decorative / protect the threaded end.
Place the table (that now weighs 80kgs or 90kgs) into the final position – perhaps turning for best presentation of the marble.
Then adjust the height adjusting inserts (if needed) to obtain perfect level.
The Waterproof solution is applied at the Marble Factory and could trap some dust giving the appearance of a ‘film’ on the surface … if so, initially clean the marble top with “Gumption” , "Jif” or a soft creame cleanser and wipe down with a damp cloth.
Future clean will only need a damp cloth – NEVER any harsh chemicals like Spray & Wipe.
FYI – when cleaning – you will notice a slight “twisting” of the marble … but this is the only time it will happen … It occurs because you will naturally apply a circular motion and because the base is not welded together – the tighter the bolts – the less this will be obvious.
